Crown Green Bowling

Members have access to the club outside the normal bar hours.  There are secure lockers available to store your bowls, measures, etc. and jacks, mats, score cards etc. are all readily available, so members can come to the club at any time and practice or enjoy a casual game with friends.  Players in league teams have to pay small additional fees per game and season to cover league and green maintenance costs.

The green is open for bowling between Mid March (depending on the weather) and September each year.  Members can play during daylight hours and keys are available to access the club house when the bar is shut, so there is excellent shelter from any adverse weather! 'Full' members can always have a game of snooker instead, if the weather is just too bad.

The club has a number of teams that play in local leagues on:

Friendly Matches

We have a Saturday Afternoon bowls social day when you can turn up and have inter-club pairing matches. You can bring friends along if you wish

Green Maintenance

We employ a Green Keeper to cut and maintain the crown green so that it is kept in good condition throughout the bowling season.

Internal Competitions

There are several internal competitions each season depending on the demand from members, and these are arranged by the Bowling Secretary as and when required.
